Delhi is one of the most well-connected cities in India and serves as a convenient starting point for the Adi Kailash Trek.
Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) connects Delhi with all major Indian cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, and more.
Regular domestic flights operate daily from every part of the country.
Delhi is connected to all major railway stations across India.
Major stations include New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station, Hazrat Nizamuddin, and Anand Vihar Terminal.
Delhi has excellent road connectivity via national highways.
Regular Volvo, deluxe, and government buses run from nearby states like Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana.
Kathgodam is the main railway gateway to the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand and a common pickup point for the Adi Kailash Trek.
The nearest airport is Pantnagar Airport (PGH), approximately 35 km from Kathgodam.
Limited flights operate from Delhi. From Pantnagar, taxis are easily available to Kathgodam.
Kathgodam Railway Station (KGM) is well connected to major cities.
Popular trains run from Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata, and other northern cities.
Kathgodam is well connected by road to Delhi (approx. 300 km).
Regular Volvo and deluxe buses operate from Anand Vihar ISBT, Delhi to Kathgodam/Haldwani.
Taxis and shared cabs are also available.
Dharchula is the last major town near the Indo–Tibet border and the primary base point for the Adi Kailash Trek.
The nearest airport is Pantnagar Airport, around 320 km from Dharchula.
From Pantnagar, you can hire a taxi or travel by road via Almora, Pithoragarh, and Askot.
The nearest railway station is Kathgodam.
From Kathgodam, Dharchula is approximately 290–300 km by road and takes around 10–12 hours.
Dharchula is well connected by road from Kathgodam, Pithoragarh, and Almora.
Regular buses and shared jeeps run from Pithoragarh to Dharchula.
Private taxis are also available for a more comfortable journey.

Practice walking by wearing your boots before the trek to make yourself used to them.
